Remote Learning
Teachers will provide remote and home learning for pupils who are not currently in school due to Covid-19 restrictions. Pupils are not expected to continue with lessons should they be unwell.
Please see below for guidance on what parents and carers can expect from their child’s teacher should they be asked to undertake remote learning.
Remote learning will be:
- Appropriate to your child’s stage of development
- A balanced and reasonable amount of work, taking into account the challenges faced by families should a pupil be absent from school
The class teacher will:
Remote and home learning is not possible without family support, therefore we would kindly ask the following of all parents and carers:
- Contact families at least once a week to see how things are going
- If appropriate and with given consent encourage pupils to join in with online lessons alongside their peers
- Provide families with online resources to support their child’s learning and/or send home resource packs and activity ideas to support learning at home
- Be available to answer questions families may have about their child’s learning
- If your child is home for one day only, please concentrate on their IEP targets
- If possible, continue to deliver your child’s physio programme
- Encourage your child to develop their independence skills whist at home, helping with chores, carrying out self-help tasks as independently as possible
- Provide feedback to the teachers via email, home school diary or phone calls as to how well your child has done with the tasks
