The nursing team based at St. John's operates an open door policy and is always willing to welcome parents and carers who wish to discuss any issues they may have - be it through home visits, phone calls or visits to school. Working in partnership with parents and carers is extrememly important and the team facilitates a parents/carers group which meets half termly.

The team also works very much in partnerhip with education and health. Other health professionals visit the school on a regular basis to provide clinics for the pupils. A paediatrics clinic is held weekly and appointments are organised and arranged by the nursing team. Orthoptic and audiology clinics are held for screening purposes. A dentist visits the school on a termly basis and is able to see pupils who do not already attend a dental practise.

The team aims to provides nursing care for the pupils at St. John's so they can access every part of the currciulum.
